Alesana is
an American rock band from Raleigh, North California. Formed in 2004, the
group is currently signed to Revival Recordings and Artery
Recordings and have released one EP and four full-length studio albums.
The band gained a wide audience after their debut, On Frail Wings Of
Vanity Wax was released, featuring a musical style shifting between
light and heavy sounds along with a wide influence ranging to even classic rock
bands such as The Beatles. Their band name is derived from street named
Aliceanna St., which is located in Baltimore where the group originated.
Alesana consists of
Shawn Mike – lead vocal, rhythm guitar, piano (2004–present,
current vocalist & guitarist of Tempting Paris)
Dennis Lee – unclean vocal (2004–present,
current vocalist of Child of the Jackyl)
Patrick Thompson
– guitar (2004–present, current
guitarist of Tempting Paris)
Jake Campbell – guitar (2008–2010,
2012–present, former guitarist of Twelve Gauge Shotgun)
Shane Crump – bass guitar , backing vocal (2007–present,
2008–present, formerly of Your Name in Vain
Jeremy Bryan – drum, percussion
Alesana's overall genre
is difficult to determine due to their frequent use of light and poppy influence
combined with heavy outputs and extreme metal vocals.The band has been
considered a wide array of many things, including melodic
metal, postcore,emo and screamo. Although these are the genres
that Alesana is usually classified as, the band has labeled themselves as
pop-metal and “sweetcore”(a term
that was made-up by the group that parodies the cliché of genres that suffix in
"core")
Actually i
started to know this group when i was 15 years old. so excited when i listen
to their song, The
Thespian, i fell in love
, melted like icecream under the sun. :D LOL !
Then i started
to search all their songs, even their picts and vids. Hey,, if u are music
lover even in any kind of genre. please try to listen to this band. i can
